President's Day. Less About Washington. More About Obama.

Washington was born on February 11, 1731.  Americans celebrated Washington's Birthday long before congress declared it a federal holiday.

According to the National Archives, "The centennial of his birth prompted festivities nationally and Congress established a Joint Committee to arrange for the occasion.  At the recommendation of the committee, chaired by Henry Clay of the Senate and Philemon Thomas of the House, Congress adjourned on February 22, 1832 out of respect for Washington's memory and in commemoration of his birth.

Prompted by a memorial from the mayor and other citizens of Philadelphia, the House and Senate commemorated the 130th Anniversary of Washington's birth by reading aloud his Farewell Address.  In a special joint session held in the House Chamber, the House and Senate, along with several cabinet officials, Justices of the Supreme Court and high-ranking officers of the Army and Navy, gathered to listen to the Secretary of State read the address aloud.  Eventually, the reading of George Washington's Farewell Address became an annual event for the Senate, a tradition that is still observed to this day.

Contrary to popular belief, neither Congress nor the President has ever stipulated that the name of the holiday observed as Washington's Birthday be changed to 'President's Day.'  "

We would like to show you samples of material that schools use as Common Core aligned "informational text" by ReadWorks to celebrate President's Day:

(suggested answer:  Barack Obama was the first African American to be elected president.)

Another Common Core aligned kindergarten lesson plan celebrating President's Day inserts information about President Obama between George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.  The lesson goes a step further to teach that our country is a "democracy" rather than a representative "republic."

Of course, Obama has been inserted into the holiday since his first President's Day in office.  From February 2009:

"President Barack Obama's picture was removed this week from a Presidents Day sign at the Peterson Air Force Base commissary after customers complained that the image did not fit the holiday commemorating the birthdays of past presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

They said four customers had complained that Presidents Day is to honor Washington and Lincoln, not Obama, causing the agency to remove the Obama image.

'The customers stated it is inaccurate to associate other presidents with this holiday and asked that we remove President Obama’s photo from the flier,' the agency said in a statement."

Just wait until we publish our findings of the newly revised Social Studies Framework....

Jeff Flake Wants More Foreign-born STEM Grads In The U.S.

Because, apparently, our unemployment rate is improving.

IMarch is also known as "March for immigration reform."

Who is a coalition partner of IMarch?

Obama's Organizing for Action.

We see Flake is fitting in nicely in Washington and living up to his namesake.

CCSS Partner: The Lumina Foundation

The Lumina Foundation is a Partner of the National Governor's Association and the National Council of State Legislators, Achieve and the Council of Chief State School Officers who have been pushing for the implementation of the CCSS.  Including our own Senator Rich Crandall and Rep. Goodale.  They also donate millions to leftist groups such as Soros' Tides Foundation, New America Foundation, The Brookings Institute, The Center for American Progress, and the Aspen Institute.

Arizona is a recipient of grants from the Lumina Foundation.
Phoenix College | Phoenix, AZ
$600,000 to support efforts by phoenix college to increase the number of latino students earning high quality postsecondary degrees and credentials by strengthening seamless pathways to college and tracking educational and career success of high need youth in the greater phoenix metropolitan area of Arizona.

University of Arizona Office of Community Relations
$280,250 to support participation of higher education institutions in southern arizona in an oecd-organized initiative.  This grant will allow personnel from higher education institutions, government, business and community-based organizations to come together to identify opportunities for productive partnerships and to understand how to develop and assess the effectiveness of those partnerships that will result in a regional action plan for moving the work forward.  7/1/09 - 6/30/11 (Coincidentally, Dr. McCallum, a professor from the UofA was working on creating the Math portion of the Common Core Curriculum during this same time.)

The third annual Grad Nation Summit was held at the end of February.  Grad Nation was formed after Obama announced his National Equity Goal of attaining a 90% graduation rate by 2020 in order to "significantly reduce the achievement gap for all students, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, age, gender, disability, language, sex, and socioeconomic status." In attendance was the VP of Strategic Impact for the Lumina Foundation, Dr. James Applegate.  Dr. Applegate made statements such as:

"A 1980 a college graduate earned 40% more over a lifetime than a high school graduate....the current rate will be about 100% by 2025.  Now, that might be great for the few, the wealthy, and the S.A.T. gifted who get to GO to college and GET that 100% premium..."

"We do a darn good job educating the wealthy people....."

"There is a class-based denial of opportunity."

The reality: Common Core Standards has nothing to do with implementing "rigorous" standards and everything to do with class warfare.

So, about those "rigorous" standards....

How does a country attain Obama's goal of a 90% graduation rate by 2020 without lowering the bar through the elimination of half of the material and slowing the pace that it is taught?

How is waiting until 9th grade to teach algebra instead of 7th or 8th considered "rigorous?"

According to the Education Secretary, Arne Duncan, there are currently 1500 failing schools in the U.S. out of a total of 100,000. It is anticipated that by 2020, there will be approximately 1000 failing schools.

So, once again, the federal government is imposing new regulations and funding to overhaul and disrupt a system that will help less than 2% of the involved population.

We've seen this story before.

Arne Duncan Explains the Common Core Standards Initiative

James Madison said,

“I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachment of those in power than there are by violent usurpations.”

The following is a transcript of Arne Duncan's speech at the National Governor's Education Symposium on  June 19, 2009 , just before the formal announcement of the curriculum was made public.  He reveals which (Democrat) Governors were behind the initial push for a common core standard and reminds the Governors in attendance of their roles in defining the narrative that this was a "state-led" initiative....that just happens to have had a lot of help from leftist Foundations and the federal government.

Did we mention it is state-led?

I'd like to start by saluting Governor Hunt and Governor Romer (Democrats) for their vision and courage on the issue of education reform.

Governor Hunt called for common national standards when it was NOT politically popular. This institute (Hunt Institute where the meeting took place) has done important work with the National Research Council which shows that there IS the political will to accomplish the task today.

Likewise, Governor Romer led the call for higher standards as the Governor and as a Superintendent in Los Angeles. Throughout the 2008 election, he kept this issue on the national dialogue. We would NOT have had 46 states and 3 territories agree to adopt common high standards if it weren't for his hard work. That recent breakthrough is absolutely remarkable and it clearly signals this is an idea who's time has come. Creating common standards hasn't always been popular. Right now though, there's a growing consensus that this is the right thing to do.

(Still waiting for the "state-led" part)

The list of supporters is long. The NEA, the AFT, the Council of Great City Schools, and business leaders.

(Wait for it.....)

It is especially important that this is started at the STATE LEVEL because some people will raise concerns that common standards across states will lead to federal overreach.....So, let's be clear...this effort is being led by Governors and Chief State School Officers. This is YOUR work. This is YOUR agenda.

Tonight, I'm announcing that the Obama Administration will help pay for the costs of developing those tests. As you know, we have $5B of competing grant funds under the recovery act to help advance the four items on our reform agenda. Congress carved out $650M for "What Works in Innovation" funds for districts and non profits to push reform at the local level. The Administration will dedicate up to $350M in the remaining funds to help develop assessments. We know the financial stress you are under and want to remove the financial constraints. We haven't worked out all of the details yet but in the coming months, we will develop an application process that supports this effort. Collaboration makes it possible for this to happen quickly and to happen affordability.

Now again, some people will claim that a commonly created test is a threat to the state's control. Let's remember who's in charge.YOU are. YOU create the test. YOU will drive the process and YOU will call the shots.

This is your opportunity to be bold. To be creative. To think big and push hard on the kinds of reform that we know will create FUNDAMENTAL and LASTING CHANGE.

So, while this effort is being led at the state level, as it should be, it is absolutely a NATIONAL challenge that we must meet together or we will compromise our COLLECTIVE future.

(NOTE:  See how it works? It's classic community organizing 101. Using grass-roots organizing to unite otherwise opposing groups together under a common cause such as "common state standards." Then, make others THINK they are in control while you steer them, fund them and then attach some strings to remind them who is really in charge.

The federal government's strings?  Race to the Top money. Those states who applied for and received RTTT funding would later be REQUIRED to sign off on the Common Core curriculum)

Duncan continued:

But, let me be clear...this money will only go to states that are absolutely pushing reform in real and measurable ways. We've invited education stakeholders across the spectrum to get involved. We encourage you to work with your districts, with educators, with non-profits, (such as Achieve) and LABOR UNIONS to put together the very best application possible.

We have talked to leading Foundations (Gates Foundation, Noyce Foundation, etc) and they are eager to support your work. So, I urge you (tell you) to reach out to them and draw on their expertise and on their resources.

There's never been this much money on the table and there may never again be....

Once these standards are completed, I encourage you to ADOPT them so that everyone will know that you are serious. And that's when your leadership will absolutely be tested because people will push back.

The fact is, higher standards will make some of your states look bad at the same time. So, I promise to work WITH you to ensure that your states will NOT be penalized for doing the RIGHT THING.

Improving education is not just a moral obligation of society, it is not just an economic imperative. It's the
CIVIL RIGHTS ISSUE OF OUR GENERATION

and the only way to achieve the vision of equality spelled out by our Founding Fathers.

We will continue everything in our power to fulfill your COLLECTIVE VISION of great schools, producing great citizens and great do-ers.

This certainly isn't the vision of the Founding Fathers WE know....

Attempting to equalize the curriculum standards throughout the country for the collective good will NEVER work.  It never does.

Thank you Governor Brewer, Rich Crandall, Tom Horne, John Huppenthal, the Arizona Board of Education, and all of the members of the House who voted for HB2047 imposing Common Core and PARCC assessements in our state for showing your ignorance of the tenth amendment.

SHAME ON YOU!

Agenda 21: Introducing Jonathan Soros

Name sound familiar?

Jonathan Soros is the son of Hungarian born billionaire currency manipulator, George Soros.  Soros funds such progressive organizations as the Center for American Progress, Moveon.org, America Coming Together and Open Society.

Jonathan has been actively following in his father's footsteps.  In 2004, he served on the board of America Coming Together.  This is one of five other progressive groups in 2004 who joined together to help Democrats in get-out-the-vote efforts.  They were also fined $775,000 by the FEC for violating election law.  One of the other five groups was called America Votes. You might remember America Votes from our recent elections here in Arizona where they spent over $100,000 opposing Republican candidates.

We won't even go in to the ties between Jonathan Soros and ACORN.  You can read about the connections here.

Jonathan is the President and Deputy Chairman of the Soros Fund Management LLC. Mr. Soros served as a staff member on the Clinton/Gore ’92 campaign and inaugural committees.

Mr. Soros is also a Senior Fellow at the Roosevelt Institute where he "explores the roles of corporations in society."  He also "examines the reach and consequences of corporate 'personhood' after the Supreme Court’s decision in Citizens United. In addition, he is exploring the emerging field of social investment and the ways in which it mobilizes for-profit organziations for the production of public goods."

What is the Roosevelt Institute?

The Roosevelt Institute is a "nonprofit organization devoted to carrying forward the legacy and values of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt by developing progressive ideas and bold leadership in the service of restoring America’s promise of opportunity for all."

Because, FDR's progressive "New Deal" agenda is such a great example of "sustainability."

The Roosevelt Institute Campus Network, a national student initiative, engages young people in a unique form of progressive activism that empowers them as leaders and promotes their ideas for change. Through communication and coordination with political actors and community members, students identify pressing issues facing their towns, counties and states. Taking advantage of the unique resources on their college campuses, they engage in policy research and writing and then connect the fruits of that research to the political process, delivering sound, progressive proposals to policymakers and advocacy groups. We call our unique model of policy activism Think Impact.

Here is a copy of a facilitator guide used to teach students about their project "Think 2040" which is just a new term for Agenda 21.  This is a plan to essentially encourage students to get involved to nudge their state and local leaders to take on the Agenda 21 platform.  Parts of the guide state:

As members of the nation’s largest student policy organiziation, the state is waiting to hear our vision for the future and our recommendations for achieving it.

Explain the order or operations to the audience.  Explain what is the end result of the conversation:  an action plan for implementing our vision for 2040, beginning at the local level.  "As Millennials, we have been faced with near impossible challenges.  Get a job in the most challenging employment climate since the 1930s; deal with the world's rising environmental problems; face up to the threat of terrorism.  In the face of these challenges, we have to be clear about what we stand for.  That's why we launched Think 2040.  In the last 9 months, students from across America came together and produced a set of goals for America that represents our generation.   In this event, we will take the next step and put those goals into action with a specific focus on [YOUR STATE].”

And this is what they are doing right under our noses:

The renaissance of bold millennial progressivism will not be realized in the federal offices of Washington, but on America’s sidewalks and street corners...Obama for America led a national dialogue throughout the election on what values shape our nation, but constructive exchangement must continue in the context of community action. In order to do this, we need to create spaces to facilitate the exchange of ideas on the local level, engaging all demographics of the progressive coalition.

Hands-on opportunities to connect constituencies and build a progressive community are also sprouting up across the nation. Organizations such as the Future Project are creating innovative ways to connect young people with students and inspire brighter futures. (develop the next generation of community organizers using our public school system) At Groundswell, organizers are helping community members leverage their collective buying power to bolster the local clean energy sector.

Groundswell partners with the Clinton Global Initiative which is pushing Agenda 21.  They deal with everything from purchasing clean energy credits to advocating loan forgiveness for low income neighborhoods.

One of the Board members for Groundswell is Bracken Hendricks from Soros' Center for American Progress and boasts he was an "architect of clean-energy portions of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act."

One of Groundswell's partners is a group called Washington Interfaith Network.

Washington Interfaith Network is an affiliate of the Saul Alinsky Industrial Areas Foundation and whose motto is "we organize for power to transform communities."

There is a list of numerous "religious" institutions of Groundswell.

And a member of the Groundswell Advisory Board?    Van Jones.

No wonder Van Jones said,

“It's in that convergence of spiritual people becoming active and active people becoming spiritual that the hope of humanity now rests.”

and...

"There should be a moral principle there that says, let's green the ghetto first.  Let's go to those communities where they have the least abililty to pay for that retrofit and make sure they get that help, make sure they get that support.  And give the young people standing on those corners the opportunity to put down those handguns and pick up some caulking guns and be a part of the solution."

Agenda 21.

Agenda 21: Read All About It... On The EPA Website

One can read about the history and goals of Agenda 21 right on the EPA website.  Remember when radicals such as Van Jones said that you have to "drop the radical pose for the radical ends."  Those pushing Agenda 21 know that it is easier to brainwash children and youth with fun little games and activities than it would be to change the minds of stubborn, set-in-their-ways adults.  So, where is the best place to start?

Our schools.

Well, and the Disney channel which subjects children to the "pro-social green initiative" before they can even utter their first word.

Considering the largest voting block for Obama in the election were youth between the ages of 18 - 25, it seems clear that the 1992 Agenda 21 strategy has been remarkably successful.

Education and Sustainable Development: Selected Background

Schools in many countries emphasize environmental education and ethics as they prepare students to be environmental stewards. The concept of “sustainable development” has been important in influencing this direction worldwide since the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (the Earth Summit) in Rio Janeiro. Sustainable development and environmental protection are integrally related; the “holistic” concept of sustainable development places environmental protection within a larger social context that includes economic growth and human well-being.

The World Commission on Environment and Development...defined sustainable development as 'development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.' The 1992 Earth Summit...brought global attention to the idea that the planet's environmental problems are intimately linked to economic conditions and problems of social justice. The Earth Summit also highlighted the importance of environmental education in furthering sustainable development goals. Principle 21 from the Earth Summit Declaration on Environment and Development (the Rio Declaration) states in part: The creativity, ideals and courage of the youth of the world should be mobilized to forge a global partnership in order to achieve sustainable development and ensure a better future for all.

Agenda 21...is a broad-ranging program of actions developed by nations attending the Earth Summit. Chapter 25 of Agenda 21 is devoted to 'Children and Youth in Sustainable Development.' Agenda 21:
  • recognizes the important participatory role of youth in decision making and states, 'the specific interests of children need to be taken fully into account in the participatory process on environment and development in order to safeguard the future sustainability of any actions taken to improve the environment.'

  • states that governments should ensure that education ... incorporates the concepts of environmental awareness and sustainable development throughout the curricula.'

  • States that governments should 'establish procedures to incorporate children's concerns into all relevant policies and strategies for environment and development at the local, regional and national levels....'
The Johannesburg World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002 reaffirmed the importance of integrating sustainable development into education and strengthened the linkages between poverty, the environment, and the use of natural resources.

The EPA website also has links to website resources for k-12 students and teachers.  Students in 5th grade can learn "how many people it takes to ruin an ecosystem."  Or how pollution emissions and transportation are a major cause of global warming and how we choose to "move around" impacts our world tomorrow.  They can learn about solar energy in our homes or wetlands or evil oil spills.

Strangely enough, what DIDN'T make the "sustainability" list is strapping trillions of dollars of debt onto future generations.

In 1993, President Clinton through an Executive Order, created The President's Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD) to develop "bold, new approaches to achieve our economic, environmental, and equity goals."   These include some familiar goals:

Goal 1: Health And The Environment
Ensure that every person enjoys the benefits of clean air, clean water, and a healthy environment at home, at work, and at play.

Goal 2: Economic Prosperity
Sustain a healthy U.S. economy that grows sufficiently to create meaningful jobs, reduce poverty, and provide the opportunity for a high quality of life for all in an increasingly competitive world.

Goal 3: Equity
Ensure that all Americans are afforded justice and have the opportunity to achieve economic, environmental, and social well-being.

Goal 4: Conservation Of Nature
Use, conserve, protect, and restore natural resources -- land, air, water, and biodiversity -- in ways that help ensure long-term social, economic, and environmental benefits for ourselves and future generations.

Goal 5: Stewardship
Create a widely held ethic of stewardship that strongly encourages individuals, institutions, and corporations to take full responsibility for the economic, environmental, and social consequences of their actions.

Goal 6: Sustainable Communities
Encourage people to work together to create healthy communities where natural and historic resources are preserved, jobs are available, sprawl is contained, neighborhoods are secure, education is lifelong, transportation and health care are accessible, and all citizens have opportunities to improve the quality of their lives.

Goal 7: Civic Engagement
Create full opportunity for citizens, businesses, and communities to participate in and influence the natural resource, environmental, and economic decisions that affect them.

Goal 8: Population
Move toward stabilization of U.S. population.

Goal 9: International Responsibility
Take a leadership role in the development and implementation of global sustainable development policies, standards of conduct, and trade and foreign policies that further the achievement of sustainability.

Goal 10: Education
Ensure that all Americans have equal access to education and lifelong learning opportunities that will prepare them for meaningful work, a high quality of life, and an understanding of the concepts involved in sustainable development.

We will delve deeper into each of these goals and how they have come to pass.

What Did Randy Parraz Expect?

Parraz and his groupies showed up to the Maricopa County Board Of Supervisors meeting the day the Supervisors were prepared to vote on a $3.25 million settlement for the family of Debra Braillard, who died in a county jail.  While there, Parraz and his toadies did nothing but cause an unnecessary distraction, as usual.  This is just another example of the community organizer's idea of a "non-violent, direct action" protest.

Only this time, it backfired.

And in true community organizer fashion, he then turned around and blamed others for his actions.  Just like another community organizer we know.

See the spectacle for yourself.

Obama's Audacity: Indoctrination Of Our School Children

This video was taken at an elementary school celebrating MLK day.  In the background you can hear King's speech.  On the video itself, one can only see images of the new self-appointed King.

Monday, October 8, 2012

Four Years Of An Obama White House: The Audacity.

What four years of an Obama White House has given us.

Remember when....

Obama promised in his 2008 campaign that "When there is a bill that ends up on my desk as president, you will have five days to look online and find out what's in it before I sign it?"

Obama also promised in his 2008 campaign that he would broadcast negotiations on C-SPAN because he wanted the American people to see so that they would not be done behind closed doors?

Obama received a "Transparency Award" in a secret, closed door presentation?

Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize for doing absolutely nothing?

Obama took over the student loan industry  and barred private lenders from making government-guaranteed loans which strapped taxpayers with $100B in student loans per year and the risk that it will ever be paid back?  And then Obama capped the minimum payment from 15% of one's discretionary income to 10% as well as decreased the number of years when the remaining loan would be forgiven from 25 to 20 years?

Remember when.....

Obama broke the record for the number of unaccountable Czars that he appointed in an effort to circumvent Congress?

Obama's "Safe Schools" Czar, Kevin Jennings, admitted that the goal was to get a gay/lesbian curriculum in our public schools?  Jennings also claimed that school vouchers are anti-gay?  Oh, and that they put together a film intended to be shown in US history classes in our public schools?  They also acknowledged that it is hard to win this fight in a parochial school, "Lord forbid a Baptist or Mormon school?"

Obama injected himself into our children's schools to speak to them at the beginning of the school year?  Part of his 2009 speech said, "You’ll need the knowledge and problem-solving skills you learn in science and math to cure diseases like cancer and AIDS, and to develop new energy technologies and protect our environment. You’ll need the insights and critical thinking skills you gain in history and social studies to fight poverty and homelessness, crime and discrimination, and make our nation more fair and more free. You’ll need the creativity and ingenuity you develop in all your classes to build new companies that will create new jobs and boost our economy. "

His 2010 speech wasn't much better.  Parental involvement came in third on his list of priorities.  He said, "So, you have an obligation to yourselves, and America has an obligation to you to make sure you’re getting the best education possible. It will take all of us in government doing our part to prepare our students, all of them, for success in the classroom, in college, and in a career. It will take an outstanding principal and outstanding teachers; teachers who go above and beyond for their students. And it will take parents who are committed to your education.  That’s what we have to do for you. That’s our responsibility. That’s our job. "

He also took the opportunity to point out "diversity" and plug his "anti-bullying" campaign by saying, "When I was your age, I was wrestling with questions about who I was; about what it meant to be the son of a white mother and a black father..Some of you may be working through your own questions right now, and coming to terms with what makes you different...And I know that figuring all that out can be even more difficult when you’ve got bullies in class who try to use those differences to pick on you or poke fun at you; We shouldn’t be embarrassed by the things that make us different. We should be proud of them."   A month later, Obama launched his "anti-gay" bullying campaign. (see Kevin Jennings above)

By 2011, Obama's new school year speech didn't even mention parents involvement in their children's education.

Remember when.....

Obama declared a national emergency for the swine flu (H1N1) and recommended that those in the high risk categories such as pregnant women and the elderly should be vaccinated?  And then remember that a report came out later which showed that there was a 2,400% increase in H1N1 vaccine-related "fetal demise?"

Obama forced the closure of GM car dealerships as part of the auto industry bailout and then reports later showed that many of the dealerships retained were minority or woman-owned?  And that a disproportionate number of Obama-forced closings were of rural dealerships in areas unfriendly to Obama in 2008?  And that thousands of jobs were unnecessarily lost due to Obama's "mandate for shared sacrifice?"

Obama tried to use his Justice Department to shut down Gibson Guitars back in  2009  and again in 2011, while Michelle Obama gave a Gibson Guitar as a gift to the French Prime Minister's wife, Carla Bruni-Sarkosy ?

Obama said that the Republicans shouldn't allow the debt ceiling to be used to put a "gun against the heads of Americans" just six months after Gabby Giffords was shot?  Because remember, Democrats used the tragedy to attack Republicans like Sarah Palin, even implying that she was personally responsible because she "targeted" vulnerable Democrats.

Obama criticized Bush for being "irresponsible" and "unpatriotic" by increasing our debt and then said he would cut the deficit in half by the end of his first term?

Obama claimed a Cambridge, Massachusetts cop "acted stupidly" without having any of the facts when the police arrested Obama's friend, Henry Louis Gates Jr?

Obama said in 2006, "If we don't take these steps now (subsidize renewable energy) there's going to be a day when we look back at that $3.05 or $3.15 gasoline as the good old days?"

Remember when....
Obama insulted our ally, Great Britain, over and over and over?  First, by removing the Winston Churchill bust from the Oval Office, then giving a completely useless DVD set to the Prime Minister and and iPod to the Queen?  Then there was the issue of the Falkland Islands, BP and claiming France was our biggest ally in the region?

Then remember when....

Obama was dissed by Queen Elizabeth for his embarrassing toast?

and

Obama dissed Netanyahu?

and

The Dalai Lama was greeted by trash as he left the White House?

Remember when....

Obama said in 2006, "I agree with most Americans, with Democrats and Republicans, with Vice President Cheney, with over 2,000 religious leaders of all different beliefs, that decisions about marriage, as they always have, should be left to the states,"  but then has opposed state ballot measures banning same-sex marriage in CaliforniaNorth Carolina, Minnesota?

Obama said in his Presidential announcement speech, "And when all else fails, when Katrina happens, or the death toll in Iraq mounts, we've been told that our crises are somebody elses fault. We're distracted from our real failures, and told to blame the other party, or gay people, or immigrants.  And as people have looked away in disillusionment and frustration, we know what's filled the void. The cynics, and the lobbyists, and the special interests who've turned our government into a game only they can afford to play. They write the checks and you get stuck with the bills, they get the access while you get to write a letter" and then proceeded to fill his administration with lobbyists?

Obama pledged to not accept campaign donations from lobbyists?

Obama pronounced "Corpsman" "Corpse man?"

And finally, remember when Obama said,"My Presidency will be a one-term proposition if the economy doesn't turn around in three years?"

Let's remember to hold him to it!
