1940 Census. Then And Now.

The National Archives recently posted the results of the 1940 census to compare to present day.  There has been an interesting shift particularly in the top industries.  The graphic below says a lot.  Notice the change from being mostly a manufacturing country in 1940 to a Healthcare, Education and Social Assistance heavy country.

Is it any wonder why Unions see these sectors as their cash cow by guilting the masses into funding their power through higher taxes and mandates?

Another interesting statistic:  Marriage

1940
Men Married - 55%
Women Married - 68%

2010
Men Married - 31%
Women Married - 39%
